Pete Sanders - co-founder of PCCS Books
It was with great sadness that we heard of the sudden death of Pete Sanders on Saturday, 5 February 2022. Along with his wife Maggie, he founded the influential Person-centred publishing house, PCCS books, in 1993. Pete has written, co-written or edited 15 books.
He was passionate about the demedicalisation of distress, as he liked to describe it. He believed that mental health services are in urgent need of reform. Pete often talked about and wrote energetically on subjects that invoked deep feelings in him. He could be forthright when debunking sacred cows. We have lost a champion and independent thinker.
