Dear Members, dear colleagues

Herewith we are going to send you the Provisional Agenda for the Next GA of our Network. The Board apologizes for being a bit late due to difficulties in clearing the circumstances of the venue of our next meeting.

If you have additional items which you want to be included into the agenda please send them until October 20th  to Peter F. Schmid (A-1120 Vienna, Koflergasse 4; Fax +43 1 8124578; E-Mail: pfs@kabelnet.at).

EXPLANATIONS

Item 2
Members are invited to give a SHORT report about interesting developments in their country and association (maximum time 3 minutes!) - if you have detailed material please bring approx. 20 copies in order to make it available to the members.

Item 6
We agreed last year to pay the EWAO fee (1200 EUR) and decided to postpone the decision on how to divide payment among the Members to the oncoming GA. There will be the proposal to divide it equally among the Members (60 EUR each).

Item 7
The World Organisation changed its name at the GA in Chicago last June from "WAPCCP - World Association for Person-Centered Counseling and Psychotherapy. An Association for the Science and Practice of Client-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapies and Counseling" to "WAPCEPC - World Association for Person-Centered and Experiential Psychotherapy and Counseling". The reason was to clearly distinct between the different paradigms. (You can find more information on the homepage of the WAPCEPC) Thus the question arose about changing the name of our European Network accordingly.

Item 8
Last year the issue of debating common training standards for psychotherapy and/or counselling in Europe came up. Since the matter is very complex this year's GA should clear the concrete questions and clarify what exactly the task for the Network could be: Thus the Delegates are asked to shortly report the standards of their association in order to get an overview and to start discussion. (Stan van Asbroek already started a preparation for the overview. We could include this.) Please prepare a short statement and bring 20 copies of ONE sheet of paper with an overview of the following questions (separated for psychotherapy and counselling):

1. - admission requirements

2. - hours of training (individual/group), main contents and settings of training in the fields of

a. self experience (trainee's therapy/counseling)

b. theory

c. practice

d. supervision of practice

e. other

3. - form of diploma

4. - required qualification of trainers

5. - recognition of graduates by whom? (government, health insurance companies, others)

6. - (which) further training in psychotherapy and counselling offered?

7. - (which) other training offered? (supervision, coaching, mediation, group work etc.)

Item 9
A proposal exists to have annual European Conferences in connection with the General Assembly.

Item 12
At least in part the present Board Members will not candidate for the next period. Who is willing to serve on the Board in the oncoming two years?

Warm regards

Peter
